The ChargePay Billing Page Explained

The ChargePay in-app billing page is built to give you a complete and transparent view of your subscription, usage-based charges, and billing details. It is structured to help you clearly understand your billing activity, track your product performance, and manage your plan directly from the app.

ChargePay Billing

This section displays the active ChargePay products and associated subscription plan.

Automation

Automation refers to ChargePay’s core dispute resolution engine. It provides end-to-end automation for chargeback handling, using AI-powered features such as ResolveAI® and WinPredict®.

Key information in this section includes:

  • Total Recovered Revenue: The cumulative value of chargebacks that ChargePay has successfully won on your behalf.
  • Total Time Saved: Estimated time saved based on the industry benchmark of 40 minutes per dispute. This metric reflects the operational efficiency ChargePay delivers.
  • Success Rate: Displays the win percentage of all disputes submitted on your behalf.

This plan is billed as a monthly or annual subscription via the Shopify Billing API and appears as part of your Shopify invoice.

Subscription Section

Here you’ll find the specific plan you’re subscribed to, your renewal date, and whether you’re on a monthly or annual cycle. You may also be offered an incentive to switch to annual billing for a discounted rate.

  • Subscription status (Active)
  • Renewal date
  • Billing option: Pay monthly or annually (with potential savings)

All subscription charges are managed by Shopify. No separate payment method entry is required.

Chargeback Prevention: Alerts

If you’ve enabled Dispute Alerts, this section outlines their activity and billing.

  • Alerts Reported: Number of alerts received from Ethoca or Verifi.
  • Total Hours Saved: Estimated time saved based on early prevention of chargebacks.

Dispute Alerts are billed per alert only if the alert successfully prevents a chargeback. This is considered usage-based billing and is not included in your base subscription.

Billing details include:

  • Monthly billing cap (set in your Shopify plan)
  • Remaining balance on that cap
  • Next billing reset date

You can manage and view your alert usage details via the “View alert usage report” link in the app.

Payment Method Section

This section summarizes how your ChargePay app is billed. Since all payments are processed by Shopify, this area may show:

  • Card brand and last four digits
  • Billing cap (Shopify enforced)
  • Billing status (Active)

If any issues arise—such as a failed charge—Shopify will notify you to take action and avoid service interruption.

Usage Report Section

The usage report provides a historical view of charges associated with alerts or other metered services, broken down over the last 30 days. Detailed line items with charge types (e.g., Alert, Automation) will soon be available in this section.
